Financial Sorcery by jason miller: A review

Okay, so I absolutely loved this book. It is exactly what I needed when I was reading it. As mentioned in my previous post I wrote about getting out of debt, things have been hard financially. This is in part because I got sick for a long time and also struggle with depression among other things. Consequently, I do not always have a great relationship with money. So, if you are terrible with money or are in debt significantly or are just struggling with a budget, I am right there with you. I won’t sugar coat it. I have absolutely sucked with money in the past. But this book was so great for that for several reasons.

First, this book aims to change your relationship with money, which I love. I am still working on taking the advice of the book and honoring money instead of hating it or being a slave to it, but I absolutely adore that concept. It is just so great to me. Hating money is not helpful. Being a slave to money is dangerous. But making it something to be honored puts it in a place where it needs to be heeded but not obsessed over. This is exactly what I need in my life, and I have a feeling that this would be a helpful concept to many people who struggle with money. Think of it like this: money has a simple wisdom. It should not be ignored. It should not be obsessed over. It should be given simple honor to be used appropriately and grown when possible. I have been alternating between obsessing over and hating money, and sometimes I do both at the same time, and I see that now. Jason Miller’s book has been so helpful in pointing that out to me. Now that I see it, I can rise above it.

Another great thing about this book is that it is separated into different stages. There is no one size fits all advice in the book. It entirely depends on what financial stage of life that you are in. For me, I will just be honest and say I am in the beginning stage of managing and/or getting out of debt phase. With the help of this book and some other knowledge, I am really doing a good job getting stable again and working on that. I have made some pretty bad financial decisions in my life, but when you know better, you do better. I know better now, and tools such as Financial Sorcery are really helping me get to where I need to be financially. There are other stages as well, and the advice is personalized for each one.

And what money magic book would be complete without the magic part? It just so happens that the magic in this book is completely on point. There is a wide variety of magic and rituals for money magic to help along with all of the mundane money advice, so it is not one size fits all either. I do wish that there was some explanation for some of the magic a little bit more, but most of it is really great. I especially appreciate that there is a variety of ritual and magic types so readers can choose different levels of magic. Some of it is more complicated and some is less so. In my opinion, it would be good to do a combination of more complicated and less complicated magic and rituals, but the inclusion of both makes the book accessible to many.

The final thing that I loved about Jason Miller’s Financial Sorcery book was his tone throughout the book. He was humorous and personable and really made the book a joy to read. He was explaining some pretty involved magical and mundane financial concepts, which could easily feel like a chore to read. It did not feel like a chore at all, however, and was really quite the pleasure to read through. I learned so many useful things and found so much that I want to add to my practice. I’m planning on doing a large overhaul on my witchcraft practice because it is currently lacking in many things, so it is my intention to add many things from this book to my practice, some at least weekly if not daily.

I really do recommend this book if you are looking for a money magic book. Money is one of those things that is important to have a firm grasp on both magically and mundanely, and this book does such a good job of aiding its readers in that. I honestly will be reading it again very soon in order to cement the knowledge in my head and also plan out the parts that I want to add to my own practice. This time I will be using sticky notes to mark things because I really do think that this book is that useful. I want to start doing that with more books though. Anyway, mind your money!
